Democratic committees at the local level are the heart and soul of our party. When they’re active, they keep their neighbors registered and informed, get great candidates on the ballot, and help win meaningful campaigns.
Orange County is home to over 330 Election Districts, neighborhoods in your town/ city that can have up to (2) Democratic District Leaders who represent their neighbors on our local and county committees. That means there are roughly 670 District Leader positions available, and we want to fill all of them so every Democrat has a voice.
District Leaders who represent election districts petition for their committee seats every other year. But in order to keep our voters engaged, the County Committee can appoint Democrats to vacant districts if they are committed to helping us get candidates on the ballot and over the finish line in November.
You don’t need to be a political insider or a campaign pro. You just need to care.
The best committee members are regular working class Democrats with unique skills and professional backgrounds. If the responsibilities of a District Leader aren’t for you, all of our committees offer Associate Membership opportunities to likeminded neighbors who still want to remain helpful and engaged.
